A Message from the Author

After battling anxiety and ending up hospitalized six times in two years, I knew I needed to change my mindset. Not develop some sort of “success” or “growth” mindset, but a freedom mindset. This book is the culmination of years of exploration and learning, driven not by wealth, but by the pursuit of freedom in my mind.

I come from hardworking, blue-collar roots. My quest was simple – a life lived to the fullest. But my twenties and thirties felt like a perpetual rat race, a path not true to my authentic self. Then the revelation struck – my existence is fleeting, and there is no toilet paper in this bathroom! Life is nothing but a whisper to the world. But to me, it’s all I have. It’s my entire being. I wanted to be free from monetary-driven pursuits.

Tragic instances like millionaire friends committing suicide and one of my best friends, former inmate, Gene McGuire, changed my life. Him finding freedom in prison while serving a life sentence shifted my perspective. His life is a reminder we all seem to incarcerate ourselves daily, although for you and I, escape is possible. For him, he had to wait, 34 years, 9 months and 15 days.

I didn’t write this book for you; I wrote it for myself to escape anxiety and reconsider life. If you seek instant solutions or step-by-step guides, this isn’t for you. But if you’re open to looking at life from a different perspective to find freedom, this book is for you.

Reflect on your own life as you read, and consider how these ideas apply to your circumstances. Who knows? Maybe next time you’re in the bathroom and in a bind, you’ll have a moment of inspiration too!”
